The Dark Knight set a global opening box office record, with total ticket sales reaching close to $200 million. In the US, the movie pulled in $155.3 million over the weekend, beating the weekend opening record set by Spider-Man 3 in May 2007 with $151.1 million. I saw it on Saturday night, and it was so much fun I did not want it to end. There is so much (deserved) buzz about the movie here that tickets for night sessions were sold out by the end of the morning.

São Paulo and Rio have lost some of their international fashion appeal according to the list developed by the Global Language Monitor. Rio dropped from number 20 to number 30 in the list of top fashion cities of 2008, and São Paulo, which occupied the 21st slot last year, dropped out of the top 30. New York topped the list, followed by Rome, Paris, Milan, and London.
