The first issue of Harper’s Bazaar Brazil was released this past weekend, and the reactions I have heard so far have been pretty positive. Art direction is simple but cohesive and polished, and editorials are reasonably superior to anything I have seen featured in the pages of Vogue Brazil or Elle Brazil recently. There is nothing fresh or incredibly exciting about it (other than the gorgeous Gisele), but it does manage to look more sophisticated and more carefully planned than the competition. As a few editors mentioned to me this past week “Brazilian Bazaar may just be Brazilian Vogue done right”. Lets hope it is because this country is in desperate need of a good fashion monthly publication.

And in case you were thinking “how can anyone go wrong with Gisele”? Here is how, and I am glad Bazaar enlisted Terry Richardson to make sure that wasn’t going to happen.
