MOVE!, a series of installations created by world renowned artists in collaboration with fashion designers, opens to the public at Sesc Belenzinho in São Paulo this coming Saturday. Curated by Visionaire’s Cecilia Dean and journalist David Colman, MOVE! was originally conceived for the Museum of Modern’s Art’s MoMA PS1 in New York in 2010. In collaboration with international fashion and arts consultant Antonio Haslauer, the exhibit was re-envisioned for São Paulo with a new selection of performance pieces and the participation of Brazilian labels and designers, including Osklen, Ellus, Pedro Lourenço, Francisco Costa, Alexandre Herchcovitch, and more. Artists featured in the exhibit include Vik Muniz, Ryan McNamara, Rob Pruitt, Peter Coffin, and Olaf Breuning. The exhibition space was conceived and designed by Estúdio Guto Requena using exclusively sustainable or repurposed materials in order to minimize environmental impact.
MOVE! runs from March 9 to March 19 at Sesc Belezinho. Admission is free, so do not miss it.
